Our Investment Casting Process

At Sahyog Industries, we follow a meticulously engineered multi-step investment casting process designed to meet the highest standards of precision, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy. Our process ensures that each component reflects our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Wax Pattern Injection

Liquid wax is injected into high-precision dies to form patterns that replicate the final component's exact shape. These patterns serve as the blueprint for the casting mold.

Wax Pattern Assembly

The wax patterns are assembled with gating systems, including runners and pouring cups, based on the geometry and complexity of the desired part. This ensures efficient metal flow during casting.

Coating (Shell Building)

The assembled wax trees are coated with ceramic slurry and stuccoed with fine-grade refractory materials. This process is repeated to build a robust shell that can withstand high temperatures and deliver a smooth surface finish.

Dewaxing

Once the shell is built, the wax is removed using a high-pressure steam autoclave. This stage is critical, as precise control of temperature and pressure is required to avoid damage to the ceramic mold.

Shell Preheating & Metal Melting

The ceramic molds are preheated to eliminate moisture and residual wax. Simultaneously, metal is melted in an induction furnace. Once the correct temperature is achieved, the molten metal is poured into the preheated molds.

Knockout & Cutting

After solidification, the ceramic shell is broken away using mechanical vibration. Individual castings are then separated from the gating system through cutting methods such as arc welding or gas cutting.

Heat Treatment

To enhance mechanical properties and achieve desired microstructure, castings undergo heat treatment in calibrated, temperature-controlled batch furnaces. This ensures consistent hardness, strength, and performance.

Fettling & Surface Finishing

Excess material is removed from the castings, and the final product is finished using abrasive grinding, shot blasting, or electropolishing—based on customer specifications and surface finish requirements.

Final Inspection

Each casting undergoes rigorous quality checks using precision instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, and adherence to material standards.

Final Packing

Finished products are coated with rust-preventive oil and securely packed—typically in wooden boxes or as per client requirements—to ensure safe and damage-free delivery.
